Sorry guys, I'm a little strapped for time today, so today's question is pretty easy.

Shadowwraith is the administrator of a Windows NT Workstation 4.0 computer. He is planning to purchase a new computer that will run Windows 2000 Professional.

What is the maximum number of processors supported by Windows 2000 Professional?

A. 1
B. 2
C. 3
D. 4

Good luck and see you tomorrow for the answer!!

Don't worry, Microsoft will never ask you how many processors Windows 2000 product family support.Microsoft will always aks you how you can install it over a system and how you can configure the multiprocessor support.

To install a 2nd CPU, Use Device Mgr.

A few months back, I was doing an upgrade of NT 4.0 Server to 2K server on a dual processor system: it would have been nice to know if this upgrade with 2 CPUs was possible but (politics!) it ended up being a clean install.

How do you know that for sure. Do you have access to their entire question bank?

Whether or not MS asks the question on the exam is irrelevant. Sharing of knowledge is the key goal in this forum.

sorry wrong,

from original secondary question w2k server can support 4 processors, but only if upgraded from NT4, if done from a clean install can only support 2.

Not sure if NT4 server had to be a two processor or could still be a 1 processor to be alble to give you the four on upgrade.
