Although I've seen NT/2K installs screw up your ability to reboot to your old version of DOS...

| If you need to install unix or linux, you can install unix or linux before or after MSDOS, but before others OS.. | |

By the way,(don't laugh at me ) could anybody tell me how I can install DOS, can I copy the command.com and io.sys and so..... on a partition on the hard disk and that's all or how?
|
| A for me as well. But to be honest I think the days of multi-booting are numbered with applications like VMWARE.
Adam- assuming you have a drive with an active partition, installing the full version of MS-DOS is very easy: stick Disk 1 in the floppy and boot. Copying COMMAND.COM and IO.SYS etc. won't do much good as the MBR needs to be written.
If you just want the MS-DOS kernel FORMAT C:/s does the trick.

And the answer is.....A
In creating a Microsoft OS multi-boot system, installation of the OS's need to be in the order of oldest OS to the most current OS. In this case, DOS, Win 98, Windows NT, and Windows 2000 Professional would be the order of installation. |
