Some practice tests say 64 some say 32, MS press has always said 32 min. 64 recomended, now the website just says 64 "recomended minimum" what would you guys say?

And speaking of MS mysteries, according to the website sp1 and up of win2k do not require reapplying after adding services and drivers, but one of the MS press practice questions claims you do.

Confused...

I believe it is 64, however I think Microsoft changed it 128.

From what I remember it was originally 32 and then M$ changed it to 64.

I don't think anyone is clear on this. Time to go straight to the horses mouth.

I guess it's safe to say 64.

So what to put in the EXAM?

all tghe material I reviewed saying:

64 min, 128 max

what the test wants is what the latest MOC says... and it is not that new. I haven't taught the 2152 class in a long while -- 6 months I would say since the last time -- and those changes were already in effect then.

That's a beauty about being an MCT, you get the errata for the MOC as soon as they come out

You just gotta love how MS changes those memory requirements. When I took the exam it was 64 min. (Of course that was over a year ago). It doesn't surprise me that they've changed it again. Maybe it's their way of making a gimme exam question difficult.

LOL

Actually, it's their way of saying, well, we really wanted to sell this OS even to people who do not meet the minimum requirements, but the backlash has been such that we decided to finally make the real numbers public

I know, but the errata contradicts that picture.

Tell you what: I already passed the test, so it is of no issue to me personally. If you want to believe it is 64MB, great. If you want to believe that it is 128MB, great also.

I am just answering the question based on the updated information I get from MS. That's all I can do.

We seem to get this argument about once a month... funny how things come back in circles

no problemo, I meant no animosity and I am sure that you didn't either.

I cannot give you that link. It is an MCT-only website that requires authentication to get in.

The system requirements as stated on the Windows 2000 product website:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows200...eqs/default.asp

My question is, are we going to get such simple questions asking just the minimum system requirement for Pro, Server, or Advance Server?

No, but they work it into a problem. Such as your upgrading you network you have so in so OS and hardware specs on various machines which ones will support the upgrade.

It is indeed...

... but maybe I should stop answering this recurring question. Each time is the same thing. I should have a press conference to put it to rest
