| Just want to Make Sure I understand..
When connecting to Share folder
Only those Groups/User that you asign access to share have Permission to Folder over network... For Example
Guest Group has Change & Read Share Permissions... for Folder - GUESWHAT
But where I get Lost is The NTFS Security
Now the Files in the Share, GUESTWHAT, I have used NTFS security to allow Read for Group Guest.
What is the Effective permission when I log on threw share and what is it when I log on Locally??

| To put this simply, the effective permissions when somebody accesses the share over the network are the most restrictive between 'Share permissions' and 'NTFS permissions'. So when somebody accesses the share over the network, he/she will have only the read permission, which is the most restrictive. Now if somebody logs in locally and accesses the folder, the 'share permissions' don't apply and therefore 'NTFS permissions' will apply.
Windows 2000 has a pretty good help file regarding permissions and the like.
