Hi I am recently unemployed Network Tech in Maryland.

I have an opportunity thru Vetarans Adminitration to get free certifications training.

My question is should I go for the MCSE or
try something different like Sun Solaris.

I have also have a 4 year degree in Computers. Since the Economy is not looking to good for IT.....I am very undeciding about which way I should go for the near future.

Any help is very appreciated.

Choosing a vendor specific certification depends on the product you work and how experienced are you with it. So, if you work in a NT/2000 environment go for MCSA/E. Respectively, if you're experienced in UNIX(Sun Solaris) you should go for SCSA/NA.
