| I have a Windows 2000 Professional Sysprep image, that was created on a non-ACPI compliant BIOS PC, now I am deploying it onto a notebook (DELL Latitude C600). The image installed ok along with required hardware, but the ACPI function on the notebook it's not working in Windows 2000.
Whenever I shut down the PC it doesn't power off, it just says "It is now safe to turn off your computer". I know this notebook has ACPI BIOS as the previous Windows 2000 installation it power off the PC on shutdown.
How can I enable the ACPI on this notebook given my current circumstance?
I have searched DELL & Microsoft website, but to no avail. If you can help please reply to this post.
Thanks in advance!

| Thats your first problem. You created a Sysprep image on a non-ACPI machine and installed it on a ACPI machine. To use Sysprep, your master and target computers must have identical HALS, ACPI support, and mass controller devices. There is an updated version of Sysprep that gets rid of the factor for mass controller devices, but not ACPI.

| try downloading the drivers for that laptop. i just converted out PC image to 4 new Dell Latitude 610Cs. (use the Dell service tag -- 7 digits -- and do a search for drivers for win2000 under that number) |
