| Hello, all!!
I want to start studying to get my MCSA.
I dont really have too much money to buy books, and borrowing from library is not what i want, because I would like to keep the book.
I am a subscribed member of ComputerBooksDirect, and they sell computer books really cheap. I was wondering if any of you guys buy from them? And if so, what book is good to study for MCSA exam?
Here is the site :
Or you guys know other places to get these books cheap? What titles are recommended for this exam?
I appreciate all the help in advance ComputerBooks

| Okay - you may want to check out www.bookpool.com and search for the books there as well.
I, personally, would stay away from the passport series of books for the MS exams. They tend to not be in depth enough. Same for the Sybex books covering the Core - I was very disappointed in the amount of information left out that I did encounter on the test.
I used the MS Press Training Kit and if you're planning to do the whole gammet then you should consider getting the core boxed set. (http://www.bookpool.com/.x/ases2nkoim/sm/0735617260) This will save you money and give you a good reference library when you're done. The practice labs and exercises are great.
Also, many take 210, then 215, then 218, and do 216 last for the MCSA - some even save the 216 until the end of their MCSE tests

| If you're gonna go with the Microsoft books, hit up their website before you start reading. There are over 10 pages of corrections to their book...and that's just for the 70-210 test.
Nothing worse than studying what's in their book and finding out it's wrong.

| Every book has errors - check the website of the publisher and be sure to get the corrections. However, MS has released a 2nd edition of the core set - it's also paperback, not hardcover, but the corrections have been made in the softcover version. | |

| Thanx a lot guys ...
I will definitely get these books!
I want to get my MCSA. I'm currently getting hands-on experience with an internship. So I think this will look good on my resume, cuz although I know quite a bit ... I dont have much experience as of now.
So, experience + certification, and maybe one more year, I can get a very decent job. Plus I graduate next year with a BS in computer science. I currently hold a CCNA, taking CNNP courses, and want to get MCSA, then some other ones.
I'm thinking if I should get my A+ first ... but then again ... I think I'll just get MCSA for now.
... Finally Future starting to look good :-)

| I buy from ComputerBooksDirect and have been happy with them. They do charge a bit much for S&H, but even so, it comes out less then retail. Used book stores are alos an option if there are any in your area, I've found great deals there too.
I like the Certification passport books as a review and use those as I would the ExamCram series. There is A LOT free info available on the web too. As well as this site.

| Dunno about in CA, but here in Texas, we have a chain called Half Price Books, that has really good deals. Check out http://halfpricebooks.com they ship nationwide I think. |
