| I passed 210 yesterday! Thanks for all the help! The test is one of those that you never know how you did till the results show up on the screen. There were some questions where you say "That's gotta be the answer", but there were too many questions that left doubt in my mind!
I did have one question about a PC that would not power off after shutdown. Turn on APM in Power Control Panel! I had just finished doing that on my laptop an hour or so before the test.
I had 2 questions that required me to know the ports used by FTP and HTTP.
I used this forum and MCSE Core 4 for Dummies. The books are pretty good and come with some decent ( and FREE) self-test software.
I've been studying for 210 & 215 since 1st of the year. Plan on taking 215 in next week or so. The self-test software I have has a lot of very similar questions to 210. It seems that there is not much on DNS, WINS, AD, etc. Is that correct, anyone? | |

| MCDOUD - I noticed you mentioned self-test software; is that the Self-Test Software that is recommended by MS on their Website? Just curious because I just bought a 30 day subscription to their testing center and (so far) am very impressed with the content of their test questions.
Just interested to know if their test exams reflects the layout of the MS exams?

| MS has NOT said anything about the Dummies test software that I'm aware of. As far as the layout, it seemed to be more straight forward than the actual cert. test (which doesn't help much to prepare you for the tricky questions Microsoft throws at you...their cert tests can have some very tricky questions and often 2 or more of the answers seem to fit). Even so, the Dummies tests were very helpful in learning the material you need to know for the test and in knowing when you are ready to take the test. | |
