| Sorry it was the other way around!
Microsoft Training Kit pg 161 says 169.254.0.0--169.254.255.255
The Microsoft Interactive Training CD-ROM says 192.168
Sorry for the mistake.
Some people sure are quick to point out people's mistakes.

| What was being pointed out is that it's a mistake that an MCP shouldn't have made. No one was attacking you for the question in fact the links and help given was constructive and not criticising.

| People make mistakes all the time, some times I get so harried and overwhelmed that I leave my head at the door. Maybe it is different in England. | |

| No, people make mistakes in England as well but I concentrate on what I'm doing and learn by what I have studied and experienced.
You can't afford to leave your head at the door when you are administering a live environment or you will quickly be looking for another job.

| Well, originally I asked a question that I admit was DUMB. But we all make mistakes and with quick thinking I solved the problem.
You say people make mistakes in your part of the world, but obviously not you.
My comment was about courtesy and being helpful. Some people love to argue.
You must be one of those people that have all the answers, and only 32 yrs old! Wow!You must truely be special.
To those who have helped with answers to the few questions I have posted, thanks for the quick responses and for keeping personal comments out.
No matter where you go there is always someone who thinks they know it all and must have the last word. So go ahead.

| Well if you didn't spend so much time having a go at those who tried to help you by posting ridiculous answers and replies to questions that any MCP who has learnt the material would know the answers to anyway, then you might learn something.
Regardless of my age I study hard and revise what I need to know for my career. A paper MCP such as yourself who admits that the question was dumb then goes on to criticise other who are trying to help and advise really does deserve the response he gets from others on this forum.
I didn't say that I never made mistakes but fundamental errors are avioded by reading up on the material, revision notes or various web sites. If there is a subject that contains areas of which I am uncertain, I always request a link so I can read the material and learn what I need to without asking for the answers as I do the work myself (It's called a sense of achievement, you may of heard about it.)
I'm not a last word freak but the next time you get personal I won't be as reserved or as polite.
I am 31 not 32, looks like reading isn't your strong point along with a few other things.
