| Hi,
I was wondering if anybody could help on a certain topic which popped up on my exam, which i was not aware that it would.
The question mentioned about ports in respect to HTTP and FTP. I havent got any material on this aspect. Are there any web sites which might be useful? | |

| ok, thanks 4 the list.
BUT am i supose to know all those port numbers?
on the exam it gave me a few option, like port 21 and port 81. | |

| Here's a site that let's you search for the port you are looking for:
http://support.fishnetsecurity.com/...portnumbers.asp
For example, Under Well Known Ports in the phrase box type HTTP and it will bring up the port number for it.
The official IANA site link that Slinky provided is the other one to check out. But you'll only need to know a few of the popular one's for the exam. (FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, POP3, NNTP, Telnet, SMTP)

That pretty much covers it. That's about all that I have memorized. If I need to know anything else like DNS or RPC, for example, I just go and look it up. | |
