And the answer is ....
Correct Answers: D
A. Incorrect: Drives are not disabled in the BIOS. It is possible to disable a disk device in the BIOS, but either this will cause a system startup failure if the disk containing the active partition is disabled, or the disabled disk will not be detected by the operating system. If the operating system successfully starts, disabled disks will be unavailable to both the computer user and the operating system.
B. Incorrect: Windows 2000 does not read the legacy startup file CONFIG.SYS. If a shortcut is created for an MS-DOS application, you can specify the startup files for the Windows 2000 command interpreter for MS-DOS. The default startup files for the command interpreter are CONFIG.NT and AUTOEXEC.NT and they are contained in the %systemroot%\System32 folder.
The LASTDRIVE command is used by operating systems other than Windows NT or Windows 2000, such as MS-DOS and Windows 98, to make driver letters accessible to the operating system.
C. Incorrect: Windows Explorer does not contain a setting for hiding local drives.
D. Correct: The Hide These Specified Drives In My Computer Group Policy setting allows you to hide all drives or a combination of drives from A through D. This Group Policy setting is applied through local computer policy or in a network running Windows 2000 Server, through network Group Policy. The specified drives are hidden in My Computer, My Network Places, and Windows Explorer. This policy is located under Administrative Templates in the Windows Components\Windows Explorer container. |
