Passed my first...now my question....

| I just passed Win 2K Server (70-215) this week....and wanting to work toward Professional next...(70-210).
I was told this would be simple since I passed 215. How accurate is that? How much alike are they?

| They are fairly alike. 210 & 215 go together. In 2 to 3 weeks preparation you can pass 215 still having a good recollection of 210.
Use the MS Press Kit book
and stack this one with a good study guide or a Transcender module. | |

| As Freak said the questions are asked from a different perspective. The 210 isn't any easier then 215, but after taking 215 you should be prepared for a lot of the content on the 210. Good Luck! | |

| Gwen, I've got a question (and I throw it open to everyone else that went this route)? Why did you go for Server first and then Pro? As I slip into my "Spock" mode, I would have thought it more logical to go the other way ie. Pro first then Server.
I'm sure that neither you or the others that went your route are part of the crayon brigade, so spill the beans!  | |

| I took 70-215 as a challenge from my instructor. I had taken the Windows 2000 Server class. I have NOT taken Windows Pro.
I laughed at being smart enough to be certified...didn't think I was ready. He challenged me to take it, I couldn't let that go by...and I passed!!! So I'm very grateful for his 'motivation'.
Where do you recommend obtaining study notes/etc for Windows PRO? | |

I usually recommend to my students that they take the 210 test first, as it appears more logical to me that one would take the client OS test before the server OS, but at the end of the day, many here on this site have said that they did the other way around and that had proved to be a successful test strategy for them. I think that one should look at their own experience and expertise while deciding on which test to take first. If you have always been a client-side tech, maybe 210 is a better first test. If on the other hand, you have always been more of a server-side tech, then why not take the 215? As to which one is easier, I don't think that either is harder than the other -- just that they rely on a different skillset. |
