Auditing Objects Access

| Hi All, like many, I have been a silent viewer on this site since I started studying for 210 a month ago and have learned a lot from all the posts. I have been waiting for someone to ask this question for the last several days and can waite no longer so I have decided to come out and ask you guys myself.
Q. I am trying to simulate Auditing on my win2k pro standalone but can't seem to get it working. I have enabled Auditing within Local Security snap-in for Object Access. From explorer's properties and advance tab, auditing, I enabled auditing for everyone on a chosen file. When I access this file, I see no log of this violation within the security tab in event viewer. I just want to see how auditing work. Have I set things up incorrectly? Could someone correct me on this or provide a link or step- by- step guide to setting this up. This questions comes up alot on the cert21 test and it is my weakest so I'd like to consolidate my understanding of this feature.
Thanks in advance. | |
