I'd bite the bullet and stick with "B" on this one. A bit tricky though

If the refresh rate is set incorrectly most monitors will display "Unsupported mode" or "Invalid Sync".

Yup - gotta go with B on this one too - I had this problem just the other day while building a PC for a friend out of spare parts left over in my garage.

The Microsoft Answer: B

In real life:
The User changes the Refresh rate to a Resolution, that the Monitor will not support. All of a sudden the Monitor displays "unsupported Mode"
In the Background,Windows suggests that you choose "yes" if you want to keep Settings. If not,it will simply go back to the original Setting.Because the User can't see this Message and is just staring at a blank Monitor, the Desktop should be restored within 15 Seconds.
Am i right?

And the answer is ....

Correct Answers: B

Newer monitors will mute the video signal and display the error "Unsupported Mode" or "Invalid Sync" if the refresh rate is not set correctly. This is to protect the monitor from possible damage that can be caused by an incorrectly set refresh rate. A bad monitor or video card will generally not display either of these error messages. An unsupported screen resolution will not display either of these messages.
