| I have tried the ipc connection,I scaned some computers ,and found one ip that had the administrator without password. So I enter net use \\ip\ipc$ "" /user:"administrator"
and success and then I want to copy one document so I enter copy c:\abc.exe \\ip\admin$ But I failed
Could you tell me why?
And another question
I am in the LAN But other body run the network neighbourhood and try to open my computer. They are asked for the
IPC$'s password? I don't know what's the password? And somenone tell me that I am not in the domain! But could you tell me more particularly!
Thank you very much | |

| Let me see if I understand this, you are on the network and can connect to another PC. You tried to copy a file off this PC and could not. This sounds like a possible permissions issue. Without proper permissions, you, or anyone else cannot access a workstation, or even a file. When it is asking for the password, that is telling me that the person does not have proper permissions. You may want to look into this. However, I could be way off base.
Hope this helps!
Anyone else? | |

| Windows 2000 maintains default administrative shares that cannot be removed permanently. The shares have a dollar sign ($) suffix, are invisible to network browsing, and are only accessible to accounts with administrator privileges on the particular machine. You can disable these shares, but only for the current session. When you restart Windows 2000, the shares will be re-enabled. You cannot change the permissions on these shares anytime. | |

| thank you
but my computer is 2000 pro not server, and
it's only an host in our LAN .the problem is
other computers in the LAN cann't use my shared documents from the network neibourhood
they are asked for a IPC password.
Then I don't know what the IPC password is
Someone had told me that I wasn't in the domain and I was only in a workgroup ,so other people in the LAN cann't use my shared
documents But he don't known much about this
either
So what should I do ?Ask to the domain manager? | |
