| Hello Everyone.
I am currently enrolled in school for MCSE. My question is do I really need to be MCSE certified or can I still get a good job with just passing school. | |

|  I'm afraid in this day and age prospective employeers like to see certificates. Have a look in you local paper or on any job sites and have a look if you can find a job that does not require you to have the proper certification.
Yes, you may be able to do the required tasks, but without that bit of paper employees won't even consider your application unless of cause they will pay for you to become qualified - which in the "real world" doesn't happen that often now. | |

| My advice would be to get a degree! As you're going to school for your degree you can complete certifications. The subject matter is usually somewhat related. That way you can intern through school & if that company likes what they see you may just have a job waiting for you when you're done. At the very least you'll get some great experience that way! To get a good job you'll need the whole package. Degree, certs, & most of all experience! Of course there are many other factors too.
So good luck in whatever route you take. Don't underestimate the power of those Certifications! I can tell you they helped me get at least 2 jobs already. Only most recently did my degree come into play too! Good Luck to you!!! | |

| What do you mean by passing the school. With a grade is fine for you. But you should take the MS exam to be a certified Professional.
MCP is the first step. If you really enjoy the computer field and want to grow like many of us. Then invest your time and effort to study and obtain the MCSE status.

| A degree plus a cert (or two) will help you get a job. But whether you can keep that job depends on how well you can do the job.
So gain as much experience and hands-on as you can while you're doing your degree and certs.
Employers look at certs because that's the "thing" that prove you're skilled. My cert helped my get my current job. So good luck to you! | |
