What would you guys recommend for someone wanting to learn and pass the 70-210? I am looking not for just enough to pass the exam but actually learning the stuff? But now due to the fact that the company is now deciding on a Win2k enviroment and the roll-out of Win2k to the desktop and a few servers, need to begin the process of moving to the MCSE in Win2k, But I am not sure which book to begin with? Sybex? New Riders? ExamCram? or MS Press?

Any help appreciated.

You'll probably find that most people will recommend the MS MCSE Training Kits or the New Riders Books.

Exam Cram and MS Training Kit are good books. I've heard New Riders is a great book also but I've never used so not sure about that one. With the MS Training Kit you'll probably learn the most.

I use MCSE training Kit and also Mike Mayeres Passport.
I think that both are very good.
The training Kit is drilling down each subject but passport is more exam oriented and it is very easy to read. I find my self some times not able to concentrate in training kit book and study a lot the passport book.

I'm combining a few things - though not in a very disciplined way at all!

I have the CBT by TestOut, the Sybex 2nd Edit (which I hear is much much better than the first), MCSE Training Kit, MCSE Readiness Reivew (came with my Core 4 Training kit as a bonus ), the Dummies book, and Transcenders.

I have gone through maybe the first 1/3 of the TestOut 210 course
I have read 1 1/2 chapters from the Sybex book
I have read 2 chapters from the MCSE training kit
I have not opened the Readiness Review at all!
I have read the first 5 chapters from the Dummies book
Currently, Transcenders is NOT loaded on my system But The Sims is

My recommendation for which of these may help you immediately with your rollout - the MS Press Training kits. They are what I used to set up a small network for a client. All the information you need is there. Not just enough for the test, but much more!

If you really want to learn the material, use the MCSE Training Kit books from MS Press, combine that with some hands-on, and of course Microsoft's web site (Technet Online Knowledgebase & the Windows 2000 Professional documents & whitepapers will tell you everything you need to know about Windows 2000!!!). And they're FREE!!!

Then as a review before you take the test, use the 210 Exam Cram book to hit home all the key concepts & you should be good to go!

I'm a book hound - You should see me the day my new book arrives. I smell the pages. Like any good dog would, I suppose http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/read.gif
