Somebody has posted that the Transcender is not an accurate representation of the exam. This isi n contrast to other posts and opinions I have gotten. I understand they may not be almost exact like they used to be with 4.0 but is Transcender the best bet for study tests?

What else is recommended?

Trancender is actually harder than the actual exam. And they cannot be an "exact" copy of the exam, as that would violate Microsofts' NDA. The idea is, if you can score high enough on the Trancender exams, you should have no problem with the actual exams. (That's the concept anyway.) Remember, you cannot count on the information from Trancender getting you over this, or any exam. You need to get hands-on if possible, and study.

There are alot of other good test engines out there, some costing a lot less than the Transcender exams. One is at cert21 and another is ExamDrill. I would also suggest getting the New Riders book on this one too.

When are you planning to sit this one?

Thanks for the response. I have been on vacation and haven't been able to post. Now that I am back I am going to schedule the exam and give myself probably 2 weeks.

I have gone through the TestOut CDs which I have found to be very good. I have used the exam drill tests and will go through them again this week. I still have some work to do. I have been scoring about 75% on exam drill and a little less on the Transcender. I would like to get to between 85-90% by test time.

scott - let me know how you find the TestOut material in terms of preparing you for this exam. I am also using the TestOut product - when I actually study, that is I found them to be great for the NT4 and the Net+ information.

Testout demo seems to be very good. But kind of expensive for most people.

Luckily my employer paid for it. We were able to but the entire series for under $2k, which isn't bad when you think about it.

So far I have been happy with it. It is not as interactive as I would like but once you get use to hte format it is very informative and I have found it to be a very good basis for preparing.

Now i just have to take the test.

Good luck on the test.
I wish my boss could pay for my exams.

But you know what, I'm doing it all on my own will. And when i achieve the status and the proper employment. She'll see i was an asset.

Agreed - TestOut is on the pricey side. I also had a previous employer purchase the set for me.

I do feel it is worth the money, however. It's as informative as taking a formal course somewhere and when you compare it to those, you actually pay the same for the full set of CD's from TestOut as you would for the cost of one course. That was the logic I used to convince my boss (back when I had a job ) to buy me the TestOut product instead of sending me to the class for one area of MS. It worked!

Same worked for me Pavlov. He wanted to go to a workshop and I just don't feel you get the kind of attention you need to make it worth it. At least with this I can go over it as many times as needed and it is right there at your fingertips, really easy to find.

This reminds me, I should get off this site and actually go through the next module of TestOut!

You can get the transcender test engines from xxxxx or xxxxx for free. You can get those for free from download.com, but don't forget to remove the spyware from xxxxx and xxxxx with Ad-aware.

Transcender is hard to finish. I print my results and read throught the explainations, but only made it half way through section 1 of three 60-70 question sections in 215.

The 215 test is just as hard a read, I almost fell asleep taking the test, mostly because I forgot my standard two cups of coffee prior to test time. Good thing the allow a break during the test. I made a the low 700s on 215.

Also, you could go back and review questions. Someone said you could not, but you can.

From the Moderator:

I edited your post as we do not condone this type of action. We have to maintain the integrity of the site, and posting how to get a product from a company such as Trancender for free is a violaition.
