Author Recovery Console/ERD/Safe Mode

I have studying for 2000 server exam and have some question that people may be able to answer :

1. Can you create an unattended install and install Windows NT Workstation - I thought you could only install 2000 Professional.

2. Can anyone tell me when you would use Recovery Console as opposed to ERD as opposed to Safe Mode - I know that if you cannot boot then you turn to Recovery Console and ERD but it is still a bit hazy as to when is the correct time for what.
