And today's poser is ....

Q43. You have noticed that your Windows 2000 Professional computer's performance has been decreasing lately. You have a Pentium 350 with 64 MB of RAM and a 4 GB hard drive. You run performance monitor and notice that the only thing that is out of the ordinary is that your Logical Disk\% Free Disk Space is at 8%. What can you do to increase performance?

A. Run System File Checker.

B. Run Disk Cleanup.

C. Add more RAM.

D. Install a faster processor.

Good Luck .... see you tomorrow for the answer!!

I'd go for B, final answer as the 64mb is the minimum requirement whilst the 350mh is also more than mimimum requirement which is 120mh. Hence the only resonable solution in this case would be to run disk clean up.

B for me aswell Franky boy.

Onoski, I thought the minimun CPU was 133Mhz?

Minimun RAM 64Mb? I have found contridiction in various material, where some say 32Mb and some say 64Mb. Which one is it?

Though MS states that 32 MB of RAM is the minimum it states that 64 MB of RAM is recommended - therefore, forget 32MB and use 64 MB minimum.

I'll go for B as the only software solution.
C and D won't help much if you're out of disk space.

B
claudio rivas

correct answer is b

a is incorrect, System File Checker is the command line tool for check the digital signature of files.
c and d could increase the performance but are incorrect because is not the BEST way to increase performance if your free disk space is 8%, maybe defrag would be a good practice after run disk cleanup.

And the answer is ....

Correct Answers: B

A. Incorrect: System File Checker will verify the integrity of the system files but will not help you with low disk space problems.

B. Correct: Disk Cleanup searches your hard drive and shows you temporary files, Internet cache files and temporary Internet files that are safe to delete. Disk Cleanup will then let you decide whether or not to delete some or all of the files.

C. Incorrect: Adding more RAM will help increase performance if you noticed Memory\Page Faults\sec was high.

D. Incorrect: Upgrading to a faster processor will help if you noticed Processor\%Processor time was high.
