| I have come across a few questions asking about updaing the driver for a piece of hardware.
The correct and most obvious answer would be to go to the manufacturer web site and download the driver for your device. While doing some reading I saw that Microsoft urges the use of their own version of the driver.
Which would be the correct answer if I come across this on the test? I have seen it on Exam Drill and they have the correct answer of going to the manufacturer's web site.
But what is Microsoft's idea of the correct answer?
For exam purposes do they say that downloading it from the MS Update page is the correct way?

| Do you have a particular question pertaining to the updating. There are several ways to do this | |

| I don't have the exact wording of the question available right now.
Like I said it basically is just asking for the best way to go about getting the Windows 2000 driver for a hardware device you are installing.
I know that the best way is to go to the manufacturers web site and that is the correct answer in the exam drill practice test. I am just not sure if Microsoft will consider it the best answer. Exam Cram mentions that they urge you to use their version from the Update page.

The only reason they tell you to do this is to see if the driver will actually work on your system - remember MS like to have digitally signed drivers!! |
