| Hey everyone,
Well, they dropped the hammer at my workplace; I'm forced to "test out" on 70-210 this Friday. I've been studying, but am not confident; the problem is, most of the things I study have little or no relation to what I do "on the job." Any tips, any pointers on taking the test? Very general question, I know, but I'm in a terrific state of panic over this. Also, I know the tests change, but is there any "standard" area that each tests covers? A friend of mine tested out on 210 and said that MORE than half the test dealt with RIS - sweet God, we don't even DO RIS here! | |

| It all depends on the questions you get from the pool. I did not get but maybe two questions on RIS. What you get, is what you get. You could get twenty questions on permissions. I heard one say that most of what he got was unattended answer file questions (about 18 questions). You just never know with these exams. They do not follow a given amount of questions per objective at all which is most disapointing.
So be as prepared as you possibly can be and do your best. Study all that you can in the various subject matters, firming up the concepts in your mind, and hope that your questions will be in your areas of study.
When I took the 210, I had little or no questions pertaining to all the material I studied (believe me, I had 5 test engines (nearly a 1000 questions), and every peace of training material available--MOC, Syngress, Minasi, New Riders, e-labs, etc.).
When I sat the test it was like all my studying was in vain when my "lot" of questions came up. Only had about two or three questions on permissions. Even today, I do not know how I passed the test. I have always scored high on the test I took in the past and was very upset that I did not score high on this one....arrrggghhh. I was trying to score in the 800-900 range. What is that saying, "A pass is still a pass?" HAHAAA
So with that in mind, get familiar with the concepts of convoluted test questions and you will do fine...hahaha...just kidding.
Study hard, brush up on the concepts and test objectives, and do your very best. You will come out on top!
Peace. |
