| Hey guys.
Some times ago i put this same questions and someone help me but now i donpt find the posts!!!
I installed win2ksrv / DHCP / DCpromo.
I have another computer wit win2k pro and everything work ok, EXCEPT the GPO.
I make a OU, and apply a GPO to hide desktop icons & control pannel, but donīt WORK.
i need help!!!
any suggestions?

| Might be stupid question but the Windows 2000 Pro comp is a member of the domain, and a member of the OU correct?
If so I don't know why that wouldn't work. | |

| There May be GPOs at higher levels with No-Overide set apon them or Block policy Inheritance could be set on the OU. There could be a number of things wrong such as the fact that DNS is down and GPOs won't work if a client can't locate a DC. The first thing you should check for is those processing rules(No Overide, Block Policy Inheritance), etc. Also check to ensure that no portions of the GPO are diabled, such as the User Configuration Conatiner or Computer Configuration Container. Next try to ping the DNS name of the domain from the client machine;if that works then DNS should be ok, unless your SRV records are corrupt. Check those too to ensure they register. | |

| its a new domain controller.
we donīt have any another GPO in any another level.
I make this TEST almost 10 times i never see the GPO working.

| Tell me exactly what you did to set it up as well as what the hierachy for AD as well as how the gpo is applied. I can see what I can do. |
