| Dual-boot?
Hello :-)
I have been using 98SE AND W2K for quiet long time now. And I want to change to W2K AND W2K server.
I have two fix disks.
One 20GB
Second 2GB
My question is what is the best way of partitioning the hard drives?.
Is it best to have NTFS as file system?
What about Dynamic or Basic disks?.
What are the options here before I star? if they are any...
Thank you for your help.

| I have one BIG hard disk of 80 gygabytes.
I have installed in this disk 4 operating systems:
windows 98se
windows 2000 pro
windows 2000 adv srv
windows xp professional
all this for testing purposes.
how i made this? i make 4 differents partitions. and install win98 to the first one, later i install pro in the 2nd, adv srv in the 3rd and xp in the 4th partition.
you can make the same in your disks.
you can install win9x and win2k pro in the first disk (win98 and 2k can live togheter without problems inthe same partition, but you need fat 32 for boths)
i reccomend you the repartitioning process and install all os you need!!
tell me if you need furter assistence.
i make this kinf of things almost every day in my work!!

| tell me what you can archieve at final... i can tell you my suggestions.
you can deal with your current systems. now you say that have win9x and win2k pro, in the same partitions?... if yes... you can install win2ksrv in the second disk with ntfs without problems....
i recommend partitioning!!!!

| Hello:-)
First thank you all for your help.
right now I got The 20GB drive with 98SE FAT32 and W2K with NTFS basic + 2GB as backup FAT32.
It does work fine.
But I never try it with the same hardware using W2K and W2K sever.
I will make the change next W/end, and I will let you know how I did it.
thank you again.
Back to my new riders book...
