Hello:

As I have been reading up on RIS for Win2k Pro and Network installs for Win2K Pro & Server I began to notice how the concept for both seem to be similar.

Why is RIS called RIS for Win2K Pro and Network (for the Pro & Sever)install called by it's name?

Or, a better questions is what are the main difference between the two types of installs? I realized RIS applies to Win2K Pro only.

Thank you kindly!!

First have a read of this:

www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techi...remotesteps.asp

Read this from your post:

Can you see the difference?

Hmm, I too, have questions about this. The link noted is helpful but it does not answere the question.

RIS is a serverice that allows for a simplfied install of W2k Pro and lower TCO.

Just wondering about this!

See if you can answer these two points:

1. If you were setting up one remote W2K Professional computer using RIS how would you go about doing it?

2. If you were setting up more than one networked W2K professional computers how would you go about it?
