| Slinky adds a new fancy USB camera to his Windows 2000 Professional computer, but the device does not function.
What should Slinky do to allow the USB camera to function under Windows 2000 Professional?
A. Run the Hardware Wizard.
B. Enable USB support in the BIOS.
C. Enable USB support in Windows 2000.
D. Use the Scanners and Cameras icon in Control Panel to add the camera.
Good luck and see you tomorrow for the answer!!
I've attached an image of Device Manager for your reference.

| I'll risk the bash on the head and go for D | |
|
| I am going to say (B) as well. Because the device manager should have an entry for Universal Serial Bus controllers in order for the computer to even support USB. | |

| Definitely agree that the answer for this one is (B) because there should be a node in the Device Manager for USB controllers. Nice pic Spid! | |

| the answer is B. since the device manager didn't show a Usb device present. | |

| It is B.
Anyone knows why the USB Device doesn't work on my NT 4 Workstation?

(Slinky made me do it )
I couldn't wait for the picture on my 56K modem, so didn't notice lack of USB.
That's my excuse and sticking to it

| Looks like B or C. Since Windows 2000 would likely install USB support by default, I'll go with B.
(although most BIOSes also have USB support by default, but I guess B is more likely a problem than C)

And the answer is......B
For this scenario, based on the attached image I provided, the most likely reason would be that USB support has been disabled in the BIOS for one reason or another.
Windows 2000 does natively support USB and if it was enabled in the BIOS you would see a USB node in Device Manager. So that elimiates "C". That fact that a USB node does not exist would eliminate A and D as viable solutions as well. These ultilites would not be able to get the USB camera installed in this scenario.
Nice job everyone! |
