| I am not the only one right? I forked out a lot of money for my MCSE course bargaining that I'd be able to do both the course and work full time studying during my spare time and using my holidays for courses. Since I have failed exams 210 twice and 215 once. I admit I am not very clever and not particularly like exams but to be given answers to choose from was one I couldn't say no to with regards to choosing MCSE.
I feel like giving up but don't really want to. I have spent over six moths in study and am currently looking for people I could exchange e-mail questions and answers for.
Please note that you are speaking to demoralised individual who spends only about 2 hours per day on his pc and who also has a social life.
Anybody knowing anybody ready to take on a practice technician is also welcome to reply. I live in London, United Kingdom and am currently available on Saturdays (all day). A little pay would perk me up a bit in this respect but is not necessary as I work full time.
Please don't give me sympathy as I hate that kind of thing. Just help if you can offer it please.

| Cheers.
Shall be keeping my eyes on this site from now on. I always knew it was around.
I see you call youreslf an IT fan. I am not one but do enjoy messing around on my pc. Just thought I'd see if I had a hidden talent somewhere.
Thanks for the advice. | |

| Hi I recently failed 70-210 exam. Planned my revision and hope to resit first full week back after christmas, 6 or 8 Jan 2003.
Email me if you like and I will try and help. I'm using Transcender, MS 70-210 2nd edition and free study docs from 2000trainers.com and the like. My test exam scores are increasing. Also have my own network of a server and 3 workstations.

By the way, vincentnl do you preparing a small network at home, I think without a practical study it's somehow default to understand what you have read in the books.
I think at least you should have -you know- one computer, server installed (you can ask for an evaluation CD for windows 2000 advanced server from MS web site), and one client PC, a hub or a switch, cables to connect.
With practical work you can keep what you read, off course facing some problems to resolve which strengthen your knowledge.
I am study using Sybex MCSE 2001, I found it worth the money, with some practices in every chapter, you can perform using your home network.
Good Luke

| hello and welcome to te forum.
before nothing> fail the exams is a normal issue as MS exam are very tough, but when you pass the exam you must have a incomparable feeling and know that all efforts are important!
my first recomendation is to use this forum all the time you can....
2nd prepare a small lab on home, for 2k pro a single 2k computer and for server one server and one wks.
use the practice test on the internet. lot of this practice test are free and if you want i can provide you with very good links...
try to buy a good book or good computer preparation system like trascender. trascender www.trascender.com have a lot of questions similar to the queestions you see on the real exam and good explanations. | |

| Remember to get the 'Free practice question by email' from Examnotes.net. The questions are not as close to MCSE Exam as Transcender, but its explantion is very good and give you the link to learn the knowledge from Microsoft documents or Technet. Those helps me a lot.
You may try!
Good luck,

| Thanks everybody for the very encouraging replies.
I only got to know aout MCSE's through looking for training in the newspaper ads.
I do get daily e-mailed questions from two sites.
No, I do not have a network and am generally fearful of messing around with pc's as continued experiences have left me with hours worse off where I could've used the time elsewhere.
I don't think I properly did my homework before taking on this course. Fortunately I have kept my costs relatively minimal. I am not the type who enjoys reading. I have two transcenders and text books.
You all's replies have perked me up today and I think I will get back onto the bandwagon soon. Still ain't sure about getting a second pc though. When you have questions saying something like 50 Win95 pc's, 50 Win98 pc's, 100 W2k pro and 5 W2k servers and what to do with them in the event of a problem, that's quizzical not plain yes or no as I like my questions to generally be.

| if you thought 210 and 215 were bad, wait until you start studying for the beast 216. Best of luck and welcome to the forum. i am not going to give you any sympathy because thats not how i am. i can however, tell you that i failed the 210 the first time i took it. and before you take another test make sure that you go in there feeling like there nothing that they can ask you that you can't answer. i see some people on this forum say that they didn't know twenty or some questions and still passed, unfortunately i don't have that kind of luck, and it doesn't sound like you have that kind of luck either. best of luck and study like your paycheck depended on it. | |
