| An easy permissioning question to start off the week.
Adam Salam is a systems administrator for his company's network.
Although only members of the Security Group should have access to the \Security folder which resides on an NTFS partition of a Windows 2000 Professional computer, unauthorized users are able to access the folder.
Users who are members of the Security Group have discussed this issue with Adam and would like it taken care of.
The folder permissions are assigned as follows:
Everyone - Full Control
Security Group - Modify
What should Adam do? (Select the best choice)
A. In the folder properties, allow the Security Group Full Control.
B. In the folder properties, deny Full Control to the Everyone Group.
C. In the folder properties, remove the Everyone Group.
D. In the folder properties, allow the Security Group the Take Ownership special permission.
Good luck and see you tomorrow for the answer!!

| I'm gonna be different and say "none of the above". Simply removing the full control permission still gives the everyone group "Modify", "Read & Execute", "List Folder Contents", "Read" and "Write" permissions to the folder. The question said that only the Security group should have access to the folder, and since the Everyone group can still do everything else, I'd say none of the above are correct.
I'd say "A" is the closest as long as they mean that the Security group is the only group with ANY permissions.

| Oh hell. Sorry guys for the typo, and thanks Robert for pointing it out. I didn't even see that and yes you are correct.
Answer "C" should read:
In the folder properties, remove the Everyone Group.

And the answer was suppose to be.....C
I got carried away with cutting and pasting when I originally posted the question and messed up the wording on answer "C". Thanks to Edmonds_Robert for pointing out the mistake. I edited answer "C" to reflect the correct wording. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused. |
