i remember seeing this thread and thought i would pass it on. many people like the mspress books to study from (i think you get eval versions of each o/s) and build their own labs. could be cheaper than computeach, but you can always use examnotes.net as your mentor

| I have heard of them and nearly enrolled for a course. Lucky that I did not!!
They have agents in various regions of the UK who will contact you regarding which courses are suitable etc
The one in my region mentioning no names told my sister to enroll on the MCSD course for something like £2500, and she has never used a computer before!!
Oh, the best bit was that he promised her a job within 1 year at £20,000 plus!!
I would be very carefull of these companies because once they have your money, thats it as far as they are concerned, you will be doing all the chasing.
Depending on the course you want to do, your best bet is to find a local IT training centre like Taitec or Pitmans.
What course are you thinking of??

| i considered them myself at one point. it was when i was getting really pissed off with my job at the time and fancied getting into something with computers, so i saw an advert in the daily mail or something and got their info package sometime later.
it contained an intelligence test. a simple iq test. i think you had to get over a certain score to be considered for a course. i think there was little details of the courses they offered in their pack, but they said to phone to find out more. which i did.
i was told by this guy that they liked to talk in person and discuss the course they would offer. this sounded weird. reminded me of the first time i was in london and walked into what i thought was a science fiction bookshop but turned out to be a scientology centre (i ran out).
they had said that they had trained many computer graduates who had been unable to find work and theat they would train me in a computer course that would guarantee me a job of thens of thousands of pounds annually. and said that if i couldn't afford the course i could get credit.
i set the phone down, researched the internet for ideas and bought exam cram for a+. self-study worked for that, it seems to be working for network+ and, should i decide, hopefully, my m$ exams too.

| Unfortunatley i got suckered into it, i was quite depressed about my current job, and really wanted a change of direction and to get into the it industry. So i enrolled....
I am not very impressed with the overall amount of support, i feel that i have pretty much been left on my own, with a couple of books which they supplied and thats it. I have spent extra money backing up this material with other study aids, which in my opinion should not be necessary if you have paid to a course.
Oh well, one thing it has done for me is given me a lot of motivation to get my ms exams done.

| I had a sales guy round to my house from Computeach.
He did a very hard sell, sitting in my front room for nearly teo hours trying to get me to sign on the dotted line.
I did not and he was very annoyed, phoning me and telling me so. I was not impressed.
