Author Passed 70-210...some advice

Hi All,

I passed the test this morning. Used all the time allocated, except for 15 mins. I used MS Press, Coriolis Exam Cram, Cramsession, and Transcender. I used the Resource Kit a little bit for reference. I found that you have to take your time and read or re-read the question. Missing one word could throw you off the answer.

Transcender is a big help to pass. Don't memorize Transcender, but understand the answer and the related theory. Previous knowledge of NT4 and Win 9x came into play as you had to logically think through the "tough" questions. Hands on with Windows 2000 is a must.

Good luck to all who plan to tackle this test. Study hard and go for it when you feel you are ready...usually 800 or higher on Transcender and you know the material from Cramsession. Thanks to all who have posted in this forum, you help was appreciated.

It's on to 215 for me. Hope to get this done before Christmas. I hear that I am already half way there after writing this test. Is this true?

Congratulations James! I've heard the same thing about the amount of overlap between 210 and 215. Good luck with 2000 Server!

Yes, 210 & 215 are very similar. I studied for both at the same time & took/passed both tests within a week of each other. 215 seemed much easier after taking 210! Good luck to you!

Well done!

Best of luck with 70-215! You shouldn't have any problems with it, seeing that you've got about half of the material already down.

Congrats on your pass - Approach 215 the same way. As everyone else has stated after pouring yourself into 210, 215 is going to look like the same test in some ways My 215 was focused on Disk Management and Recovery Console features as well as command line switches.

Best of luck to you and hope to see you pass the 215 before Christmas

James, much congrats on passing your 70-210 exam. Best of luck on your 70-215.

By the way, I installed Win2K Server in my computer (PIII, 450MHz, 512MB RAM and so on). Would anyone give me some advice on how to configure it. I had the study guide for Win2K Server but haven't started reading it yet since I plan to finish 210 exam first....

The OS I got is the trial version thus I can use it for only 3 months (would it be enough for my study purpose???).

I also have another question in regard to the study guides. I bought the Osbourne's Win2K MCSE core exams set (year of publication was 2000) and the "Test yourself MCSE" books for the four books. Have anyone came accross these books, are they at anywhere near the real exam questions????

Thanks in advance.

Phil.
