Really easy question today. Almost a gimme

Namrak has an account in the domain that is a member of the Sales, Trainers, and Managers groups. You are hiring Hazz_bin, who will also be a member of the same groups as Namrak.

You want to create Hazz_bin's account with the least amount of administrative effort. How can you do this? (Select best answer)

A. Create an account for Hazz_bin and add the account to the Sales, Trainers, and Managers groups.

B. Rename Namrak's account to Hazz_bin.

C. Copy Namrak's account and call the new account Hazz_bin.

D. Rename the Administrator account to Hazz_bin.

E. Rename the Guest account to Hazz_bin.

Good luck and see you tomorrow for the answer!! (Hopefully eveyone, including myself, will avoid getting smacked with the stick today )

Oh there's many ways you could go on this. You could rename namrak's account to Hazz_bin and add namrak to the Administrators group.

Or you could go with the answer (C) Copy Namrak's account and call the new account Hazz_bin for the least amount of administrative effort.

Would answer (A) be the "proper" Microsoft way to do this task? Obviously I'm negating the key phrase "...the least amount of administrative effort" phrase.

Well remember that namark is not leaving the company, so renaming namrak's account to Hazz_bin would not be the best thing to do because namrak's account would be hosed after you renamed it to Hazz_bin.

Microsoft's view on User Account Templates is that it's the easiest way (least administrative effort) to give User B access to the same resources as User A based on their group membership (because we all know that we never permission resources on a per user basis, we always permission based on the AGLP model. )

One of the answers is basically doing this.

I can't say that answer "A" is the "proper Microsoft" way. It all depends on your environment. A small shop you may create user accounts on an individual basis, a large shop/site, you'd create User account templates.

As much as I would love to have administrative rights in the domain, without Spid's general okay I guess I have to settle for C.

(namrak, In shops with less than, say 100 users, A is often how it is done. MS is pushing certification for large organizations - 5+ servers, 500+ users - so you have to take that into account.)

for least administrative effort answer should be F. Don't employ hazz_bin in the first place.

However since that is not an option (in this case) i'll go with C.

And the answer is.....C

If you copy namrak's account, the new account will be a member of the same groups as namrak. Rename the copied account to hazz_bin and you'll be good to go.

You're basically using namrak's account as a template for the creation of hazz_bin's user account.
