Here's a quick permissioning question for you today.

You set NTFS permissions on a folder named \Download on your computer running Windows 2000 Professional. The \Download folder contains several subfolders. By default, which folder or folders inherit the permissions you set on the \Download folder?

A. \Download

B. \Download and first-level subfolders.

C. \Download, first-level subfolders, and second-level subfolders.

D. All subfolders.

Good Luck and see you tomorrow for the answer!

Er...after much head twacking by Spid and cause for head examination. I must now blame my keyboard for having the "C" and "D" key reversed. The real answer is (D).

Netchild Sorry to have confused you. Your answer is correct and I plain entered the wrong key heh heh. Spid just making sure I see my folly.

P.S. Why anyone would go beyond level 2 subfolders is beyond me. LOL!

And the answer is....D

By default, all subfolders beneath the \Download folder will inhert the permissions. You can disable this inheritance property in the Security tab of the folder's Properties dialog box. At the bottom of the Security tab, the Allow Inheritable Permissions From Parent To Propagate To This Object checkbox is enabled by default.
