| Passed the 70-210 on my 1st try Monday. I didn't feel nearly as confident walking into the exam as I did for the Net+, but I felt it was time.
Been studying since around June. I read Sybex through twice, then bought the MCSE Core off a guy at work who thought he wanted to be a "computer guy" because it looked like fun. Read that about 3 times doing all the labs.
Also grabbed every free study guide and did every free practice exam I could find. (I actually found what I think to be a good free exam the day before I took the real exam. Left the link at work. I'll post it later).
To Microsoft's credit I must say the exam was pretty straight forward. A few questions were from left field, but that's to be expected. It wasn't heavy in any one area. I had ris, sysprep questions. I had ms-chap questions, permissions, compression, printers, etc. Like I said it was all over the place.
I didn't purchase any practice exams. First off, I'm cheap! Hey, I'm honest! Plus most of them were running around $100. For another $25 I could take the real thing, so I went for it.
Of course, I faithfully did the question of the day. Thanks Spid. Yeah, I'm another guy way in the back of the room that you never hear nor see, but I'm here.

By the way can you tell me how long did it take for the exam and how many questions you had to do?

| I had 61 questions and given 2 1/2 hrs. I actually used all but 10 minutes. Reason being, I was nervous. I went through the exam and marked any question I wasn't confident on. By the end of the exam I had marked 11.
I went back through and tackled the marked questions. Then I decided to go through each question and look in the lower left corner of the screen for the comments. You know, choose the best answer, choose two answers, choose all that apply, etc. Doing this I found 2 questions telling me to choose 2 answers. I noticed I had only 1 answer on each of these. So right there I found 2 that would have been wrong if I didn't go back.
Yeah, it was kind of anal to go through it that many times, but stupid mistakes still get marked wrong, so it was worth it. | |
