Hi guys! I'm thinking of taking the 210 exam soon. Just wondering if anyone out there knows what the passing score is. I know MS does not display the score after the exam but maybe some of you are able to give me a rough idea. I would like to know what the minimum threshold is.

Also, how many questions and what is the duration given?

The info I got at cramsession.com said 540/50q/150mins but enforcer mentioned it's outdated.

Hope you guys could gimme some info on this, those of you who just cleared it? Anyone?
Please? Hehe...

Thanks a lot.

Well I just took it Friday and it was 60 questions and I believe they gave you well over an hour to finish although I cannot imagine it taking longer than that.

The VUE guy said that passing was 52% but that was the VUE guy.

The questions are lengthy, sometimes even a half screen or longer.

There was some controversy earlier about whether or not there is a calculator available for the exam- well there is. You may be wondering why you would need a calculator. I thought so too but there were a lot of network questions and a few of them had subnet answers. I guess the calculator was to assist in determining which hosts were on which subnets.

I cannot tell you how to study but I used the Sybex 70-210 book and took something called Keystone Learning CD’s (which were not very helpful). There were a lot of questions on hardware profiles, printer configurations, power schemes, drivers, remote installs, deploying service packs, NFTS permissions, regional settings, disk recovery, and oh yeah network SHARES, unattended install, security templates, and adding hardware.

thanks andronda for the info.

i'm surprised you said the word 'calculator' coz i didn't expect all the calculation questions to come out i 210, i thought it would be in 215.

i'm using the MOC kit to study. i have the MS Press book as well. using transcenders to polish up but they're out of date i think. their tests are only 50 questions. somehow i think the transcender questions are a bit tougher than the real thing. the passing score is set at 790, which is a bit high i think. i only managed late 600s to early 700s for it.

would it be enough to tackle the real deal?

I can't say.

I used something called Techskills test prep. I have always used them and they guarantee that if you take their practice exams and pass with 90% or higher - you will pass or they will pay for the retest.

It was true for Net+ and CCNA. The concepts covered on the test prep were pretty much covered on the exam.

Not so for 70-210. The test prep was for the most part useless. I scored in the mid 90% on test prep and, as Gomer would say: "surprise surprise surprise", Microsoft had a totally different conceptualization of what would be covered.
