An easy one for everyone today to ease into the workweek.

Tronn is a user on a Windows 2000 based network and is trying to access afile with the network file share \\Filesrv\Training

The share permissions on the folder are set to Change for the Everyone group.

Tronn's user account has been granted Read NTFS permission to the shared folder and its contents.

Tronn is a member of the Trainers group and that group has been given Full Control NTFS permission to the shared folder and its contents.

What is Tronn's effective permission to the files contained within the Training folder?

A. No Access
B. Read
C. Change
D. Full Control

Good luck and see you tommorrow for the answer!

And the answer is.....C

When combining Share and NTFS permissions, the most restrictive permission is the effective permission.

Share permission is Change

NTFS is cummulative (least restrictive) between Read and Full Control, which would be Full Control

Tronn's effective permission would be the Most Restrictive of Change (Share) and Full Control (NTFS), which would be Change.
