What happens to NTFS file and folder permissions and compression attributes when you move and/or copy data?

Answer with "Retained", "Inherited" or "Lost".

1. Files and folders copied to a FAT32 partition.

2. Files and folders moved to a different NTFS partition.

3. Files and folders moved within the same NTFS partition.

4. Files and folders copied to a different NTFS partition.

5. Files and folders copied within the same NTFS partition.

6. Files and folders moved to a FAT32 partition.

Good luck and see you tomorrow for the answer!

I didn't think anyone would have any problems with this question

And the answers are:

1. - Lost
2. - Inherited
3. - Retained
4. - Inherited
5. - Inherited
6. - Lost

Files and folders always inhert unless moved within the same NTFS partition where they then retain.

A file of folder moved/copied to a FAT or FAT32 partition loose there NTFS attributes.
