70-210 - 210 Help Please

Good morning everyone. Just to let you know I am new to the site.

I am on my way to the MCSA, and have little time to complete the four exams. I want to start with the 210 exam but I am worried because I dont know exactly what material is on it. I go to school and it seems that the books (Sybex) seem to repeat them selves on the same material from book to book. Also now I have recieved news that Microsoft has changed the exam(s) to adaptive, like my A+ was.

In short I would like to know exactly what I need to know for it and if 1 week is enough time to study for the 210 in light of the new changes.

M$ exams are not adaptive.

You should study 210 and 215 together, take 210 first and 215 a few days follow it.

Then you will need to take 218.

If you take N+, with your A+ you can sub it for 216 and get you MCSA, however the sub does not work for MCSE. So, if you want to get MCSE, you should take 216.

As for if 1 week is enough, that depends on how much expereience that you have. Only you can tell.

Finaly, buy voucher to save yourself a few bucks.

Microsoft were proposing to use adaptive exams but as yet I have not heard of anyone who has actually sat one.

I used Sybex and MS Press. You will find that the info in most study guides will repeat from book to book as the skills sets for each exam will overlap.

MCSA in a week? If you don't have to sit 216 is possible providing you know your stuff. Don't forget the ultimate aim is to lead to employment so passing the exams are only the start of it. I did the review questions with Sybex if I scored less than 90% I reviewed the chapter. And carried out plenty of Exercises and Practice Labs.

Thank you fellas. My gola is only to have 210 passed this week and 215 by the end of the month.

I only want to know what is covered in the 210 exam, such as RIS/DHCP/Install etc.

The 210 will cover a wide range. There is no gurantee what it will cover however mine contained a lot of unnatended installations and RIS questions. I actually found the 70-215 easier but perhaps that was because it was the first exam that I took and perhaps I was a little too cocky when I took professional 2 days later. I passed but I learned not to underestimate an exam. Gear yourself towards the objectives and you will be alright. If you can score above 80% on all the Sybex chapter, objective and bonus tests I think that you will be ready for the exam. Although the exam questions are different and may seem daunting you will come to the right conclusion by deductive reasoning as long as you understand the concepts of how the system works.
