Well I finally got off my procrastinating butt and nailed this test. I'm assuming I missed 2 questions out of the 50. There were about half a dozen or so what I call "Microsoft Weirdness Factor" questions that caught me a little off-guard but overall this is a straight-forward test (IMHO) but it does cover alot of Win2k concepts and is not one to be taken lightly.

Concepts covered on my exam:
Permissions - Share and NTFS
Sysprep
RIS
DNS
RAS
Multilink
Smart Cards
Gereral Networking concepts (Routers, Gateways,etc..)
Compression / Encryption
Folder redirection
Offline Files / synchronization
Driver signings
Security Policies
Roaming profiles
Installer packages and transforms (.msi, .mst)
Printers
GPO's, OU's
Language Input locales
Accessability Options

What I used to study:
Books - Exam Cram
Study Guide - Troytech
Testing Software - Trancenders, Exam Essentials 5.5
Also used - TechNet and Hands On experience with Win2k Pro.

HTH! and I'm off to 70-215 land

Good luck to everyone.

How did you find the transcenders and the Exam cram for this one? I am using both of these for this exam. Are they accurate?

Thanks

Hi Zen,

I thought Exam Cram was OK, not great, just OK. I would recommend another book to use in conjunction with it (IMHO).

Trancenders was very good. Many of the concepts covered on the exam were there and the questions were similar to what I saw on the exam (Well in my exam anyways).

A good combination that worked well for me was when I started going through the practice exam questions, for any question that I was not sure about or missed I researched it out on Technet, or tried it out on my Windows 2000 test bed system if I could. Some things you just really can't test out on a stand-alone Windows 2000 Professional system. (Ex. it's kind of difficult to package and publish a .msi application installer to a departmental OU in a domain when you only have a single stand-alone system to work with )

I was amazed at the amount of information Microsoft seemed to pull from Technet for this exam. The Windows 2000 Professional and Server Resource Guides seemed to contain alot of exam related material.

HTH and good luck to you!

Thanks for the input. I should be able to try out most of the stuff while I'm at work on our network providing I can find the time.
