There is a certain game in my Windows 2000 system that occasionaly crashes when I alt-tab out of it. Not always, but a good amount of times. When it crashes, I get the error message 'such and such has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created.' My question is where the heck is that error log so I can at least see why it's crashing when I alt-tab out of it? I've looked in event viewer but can't find any error logs from it.

Where in event viewer are you looking?

The system log is where OS developers put their messages. Application programers are SUPPOSED to write error messages to the Application log in event viewer. It is up to the progam developers to determine what kinds of error messages to log.

Another place to look is in the folder that contains the files for your program to see if there is an alternate file that is maintained. You may need to use the advanced features of windows explorer to show hidden files and folders.
