Ello,

I am aware from previous threads that the passing score is a 540. My question is out of what possible score and how is the test graded? If the test is based of a final score of 1000 do you really need barely over half of the questions right?

btw, I've been using the microsoft press book to study, and so far based on what I've seen on practice exams (including those from the microsoft readiness review) the book doesn't cover some rather important items.

Hi There,

Ill toke the 70-210 test in may 2001. The passing score then was 620. I cant imagine that you need half of the questions right to pase this test. Where heve you seen that?

When you check the information on this site about the exam there you find 620.

Hrm...if you scroll down farther in this forum there was a thread called passing score or something akin to that in which some of the members expressed that the passing score for their test was 540? Where on microsoft's page does it talk about this, I looked and couldn't find it. I have heard 620 from some and 540 from others, either way though, what is that out of? If it's out of 1000 and the passing score is even the higher 620, that's still barely over half of the questions right...?

Hi Ravenink,

Here you can find some more info: http://www.examnotes.net/?action=te...10&work=details
When I did the test I needed 620 out of 1000. you can find your scored points on the score report you get after the test is finished, so you must have more then half of the questions right.

I've used a book called Exam Cram from Coriolis en some braindumps, after that a lot of practice exams on the internet. Worked very well for me.

When are you going up for the test?

I took the exam today and my cutoff score was 540. It had 50 questions with a couple drag and drops. There was also a couple of exhibits.

It was pretty simple.

Maybe the difference in test scores was one score was for an Adaptive test and the other score for a Fixed test? I think they give both kinds, but I am not sure.

COMPTia scores their's from 100 to 900, so it easy to figure out how many you got right or wrong. I don't know how MS does it as I cannot find my MCP score sheet from Win98.
