Hi everybody i have 2 questions.
I have seen different answers for these questions. i am confused please help me with the most correct answers.

1) You have a portable laptop with W2K installed. You add a PNP SCSI device to the docking station, connect the portable and boot W2k. It fails to detect the SCSI device. You start Add/Remove Hardware Wizard, but when it finished it didn't detect the device. You want to enable W2K to detect the device What to do?

A) Start Add/Remove Hardware Wizard, manually install the device

b) Add the device to %systemroot%\driver cache\i386 folder and start the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard.

My Answer A

2) You are trying to copy big files from a UNIX server to a W2k computer (running TCP/IP). You do the copy in explorer. The files are 100MB each and you need to copy 20 of them. The copying always aborts. What should you do to resolve the problem.

A)Install Network Monitor Agent, use performance console and review all counters for TCP/IP.

b)Install Network Monitor Agent, use performance console to review Fragmented Datagrams/sec.

c) Install SNMP and monitor TCP/IP counter.

d) Install simple TCP/IP protocol and monitor fragmented data.

My Answer B

Thanks For Your Answers

Per braindumpcentral and troytec, the answer to the first question is A and the second is C.
These answers were also verified by my Win2000 Pro/Server (2152) teacher.

For the first one, the Answer is A

Drivers can be installed manually using the add/remove hardware applet or using the setup program provided by the manufacturer if it is not detected.

Guys,

My issue with the first question is this...

"You want to allow W2K to detect the device What to do?" (Most other dumps use the word "allow" and not enable.)

I know that you can manually get win2k to install the device, but if you add the drivers to this \driver cache\i386 folder, will the OS install the device automatically? I haven't had a chance to try it. Does anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

Cache folder hold the drivers that have been installed before so that tjey can be retrieved from the hard disk later if needed, adding any drivers there will not help W2k to detect or use a hardware since it is purely for caching purpose, hope this help =)
