Hi,
I cannot get into the Internet with my PC installed win98 and plugged into a cable modem. My hardware devices are all perfectly ok. I can log on the Internet with win2k installed.

Why will this be happened?

if the hardware's okay, and there are no conflicts, then you should check your network protocol settings. Sometimes it helps to delete TCP/IP and then add it back.

My cable modem only requires the computer name/host name which is on the identification tab under Network Neighborhood Properties. IP must be set to Obtain automatically. Make sure the IE connection is set to LAN. You may need to release and renew ip information. Who is your ISP?

Should I set the DNS provided by the ISP as well??
My ISP: cable-TV.
