I have 3 laptops. On one laptop I installed WIN2K Server, which is my Domain Controler for my LAN w/
DHCP, AD and DNS enabled. On 2 laptops I installed WIN2K Prof. 2 laptops were able to join my Domain /DHCP assigned IP addresses to both stations w/out a hitch/. I deceided to make ICS on one of WIN2K Pro laptops. The second NIC has been installed w/ Static IP Address and no conflicts have been detected. I enabled the Internet Connection Sharing and reset the IP address on the first NIC to get IP address from the DHCP.
Just in case I IPCONFIG-ED/ALL.
It showed:
The First NIC -takes IP address from DHCP /LAN/-FINE!
The Second NIC- uses static IP address that I assigned /The Internet/- FINE!
I was able to get onto the Internet on this laptop. BUT WHEN I TRY TO GO TO THE INTERNET
ON MY FIRST WIN2K SERVER and ON MY SECOND WIN2K PROF LAPTOPS - I CAN'T.
I can ping this "Internet" laptop from both /cuz they are on the same Internal LAN/.
But I cant ping the second NIC- shows host unreachable.
That's the story.
Any Ideas???

You should not use the ICS feature in a network with other Windows 2000 Server domain controllers, DNS servers, gateways,
DHCP servers, or systems configured for a static IP. In the configuration that you have, you should move over to NAT. It's slightly more complicated to setup, but still not really that much more difficult. Plus NAT gives makes your internal network more secure.

You cant use DHCP with ICS.ICS will make the box the connection residing on 192.168.0.1.Then you still configure the other for automatic assignment.ICS does its own DHCP ( not exactly the same).Very unsecure.COnfigure NAT. Or setup a proxy.

Ok guys thank you very much for the answer.
You was right.ICS is not working w/in Domain.
Actualy I had to disjoin the Domain, release the IP address w/out renewing it. I reset ICS again so that ICS become sort of "DHCP" allocator for all PCs in a Workgroup and reboot all PCs. They got all 192.168.X.X and
created workgroup w/ the same IP range. It worked. Instead of using ICS , NAT or PROXY
are the ones that should be used.
