Been trying to get the multiple ways to instsall w2k stright in my head.

When is the best time to use what option.

First which is the quickest way to check whether your computer meets the pxe standard...I'm ok with NICS..I know mine don't cos they're not on the list...but I could change them so what else and where do I need to check.

Given that my computers don't meet pxe ..which is the preferred microsoft exam method for doing an install(my pcs are networked together) and secondly what would be the best way in the REAL WORLD? Use of third party imaging etc?

Microsoft is SUPPOSED TO update the list of supported NIC's generated when you run RBFG.exe. Currently, no way exists to modify the utility. To see if yours supports pre-boot extensions, simply install a blank unformatted hdd and boot as normal on a DHCP LAN. You should get a prompt right after your machine POSTs. As far as third party utilities for creating the image, I am only familiar with Norton Ghost.
