I am starting to practice for my exam..its dawning on me using 2 puters at once is the way to go..now my problem..my main computer has DSL wich obtains an ip automatically..so to connect the other puter I thpought about installing another network card in it and giving it an static IP addy and using it to connect to the other puter in my house..will this work or will I have a conflict running both cards at once and a major headache?

Yepp, you could run 2 NIC's on one Computer and then enable "Internet connection sharing" on the second NIC to the second Computer, who then gets an IP-Address from the first one. However, the easiest way to do it,to get a Router, who picks up the puplic IP and then throws private IP's to up to 199 Computers on your private Network. The Unit i picked was the D-Link 707.It works as an DHCP-Server,NAT and even clones Mac-Addresses.very cool.It only costs me $145 and about 1 hour to set up!
Another great Feature is the Firewall,it supplies. No,i don't work at D-Link.
Details about the Router is right here:http://www.dlink.com/products/broadband/di707/
Does anyone disagree with me?
