I hit 560, got over the exam marginally. Therefore I'm now in a state of PMED - post mcse examination depression.

Dear ITman, let's ignore whether it's 540 or 640 but concentrate on the potential areas: RIS came up the most, then routing (subnet A can't reach subnet B while A has one netware machine using 802.3 and there is a gateway indirectly inbetween A and B and there is a WIN somewhere so how will you position different servers in an exhibit to make things work. One more: domain A want to reach domain B without waking the proxy in domain B(it's not hacking) so how do you do that with your DNS...). offline files, group policy and trouble shooting and RRAS, and be prepared for all the command-line stuffs (that's where I lost my points, I believe).

On to 216 next Friday, see you again folks!

What did you use to study for the MCSE 210 test? I have the keystone learning videos and just ordered the exam cram core set. Any suggetions would be appreciated.

Also, the study guide provided by exam notes doesn't seem to go over the details that you provided in your thread. Can you tell me what I should focus on then, since the exam notes seem to be a bit general.

thanks in advance!

I used CBT Nuggets, MicroSoft W2K Professional Resource Kit and Transcender.

CBT Nuggets sells a set of 8 cd's with excellent explaination. It doesn't give you any exam tips, but it won't leave you unclear about any concepts of w2k pro.

MS Resource Kit is good, very thorough and detailed. It will help you for the exam and in the future.

I should have spent more time with Transcender. It's a real exam, even more serious than the real one. It makes you think much deeper about the subject and know how to apply what you have learned.

I read ExamCram and for me it's too much a SUMMARY of w2k. If you are a biginner it's not gonna help you much.

MS Core 4 is good but it's such a dry book, you will easily fall asleep reading it.

Syngress is very clear (and very thick); it is very good for understanding W2K, but less good for the exam.

I also find SasaSite and trandumper giving away very good dumps. you should spend some time to verify their answers though.

good luck and please let me know how your exam turn out
