FreddyFlyer Passes another one!

| Passed 210 today. It was 50 questions with a pass of 540. It was what I had expected. Used Transcenders, Troy Tech, Alan Carter's book "Windows 2000 Study System" and CBTNuggets. Also, took the Microsoft Course 2152.
Transcenders is close to real exam but not exactly. Don't want to offend Microsoft's copyrights, etc. Troy Tech also talks around the questions, but covers the material well.
I found CBT nuggets a good substitute for attending the class. Used it a lot as a refresher when I wanted more information on a subject matter. They are kind of amateurish, but they cover the topics with great details. Used it on my laptop, so I could take it with me when I was traveling and waiting for flights.
The Microsoft course 2152, "Implementing Microsoft Windows 2000" is designed for both Pro and Server. They spent a lot of the time on Server. However, they are very similar in look and feel. Don't just rely on the course. Take as many practice exams you can find. They help you hone your skills.
Someone had asked a question earlier about MOC's. You only get them with the course. However, I have found that the Microsoft Press books closely follow the MOC's and are a fraction of the price. The CTEC's pay several hundred dollars for each student book (and you thought they were free.)
What to know, I saw questions covering these; regional settings, security settings, File systems, sharing, permissions, backups, remote installation, partitions, printers and ports, HTTP and FTP ports, GPO's, ERD, DHCP, EAP and Smart Cards, legacy devices, Fax Service, disk quota, encryption and many other of the standard topics.
It would be helpful to have a lab computer with Win2K Pro. Some of the questions ask where certain things were on the desktop or start menu. Like using the start, settings, task manager or control panel. If you can practiced it you'll remember it. Right clicking the object is not always one of the answers, even though that how we do it everyday.

| Well let's just say I passed. Only me, Microsoft and the cute red head at the testing center know it. LOL. As we used to say in the Air Force, if the minimum wasn't good enough it wouldn't be the minimum.
