You install a ZIP drive into a Windows 2000 system. You install the drivers. On reboot the system locks. You can’t get in, and even safe mode doesn’t work. How do you unload the driver to get back in to Windows 2000 professional? (Choose three)
A. Go into device manager and remove Zip drive.
B. From a command prompt run LISTSVC to disable the zip driver
C. From a command prompt run DISABLE to disable the zip driver
D. Select recovery console from the repair
E. Start the PC from CD-ROM

I think the answer is either c. any ideas ?

The question asks for 3 answers.

Since the system keeps locking, answer A is not possible.

You can discount answer B for the same reason as A. Since you can't log in, you can't get to a command prompt. (unless your talking about booting into safe mode, with command prompt. However the question already says that you attempted to boot into safe mode).

That leaves us with the last three answers (and of course we have to choose three answers). Let's reverse the order that they are shown:

Boot the system fromt he cd rom. Yes, this is possible.

Attempt to repair the system by using recovery consonle. Yes, this is possible as you can get to recovery console through booting from the cd rom, or running winnt32.exe with the cmdcons switch. You can then choose recovery console from the safe mode menu.

Use the disable command from a command prompt. Well, recovery console provides an interface that APPEARS to be a command prompt, although it is not. The disable command is a valid command to disable device drivers, and if this particular driver is preventing booting of the system, disabling it should allow you to boot normally.

If you put the last three answers together, it should make sense. Boot from the CD, choose repair and select recovery console, use the Disable command to disable the faulty driver. Since the question asks for three answers, I'll take these three.
