Alan Carters Windows 2000 MCSE Study System book is also a great source for the exam also. It has the four cours in it.

I am a book hound and went a bit nuts (ok I am nuts to start with ) when I was starting to study for it. Sybex was the worst book I used. Exam Cram, Exam Prep, and Troytech if you can only do three. Check out the free quizzer at Freak's site
www.mcsefreak.com
and free on line tests at

Also Yeti's site

Hope this helps

You can study all the material you want but, if you do not learn troubleshooting methods and theory it will show. If not on your exams it will be in the field. Cramsession has some great study tips for starting this way of thinking, it help me get a perfect score (%100 correct) on the Network+ Exam.

Good Luck

I see that you don't suggest W2K Pro by Sybex. Is there a reason why?

I am also trying to find some good study materials, but have been having a difficult time deciding on which one would be the better bet.

The fact is that with the sybex, syngress, and other various books that you will find, you will see inconsitencies and sometimes even errors throughout the book. An example was that the syngress Win2k pro exam book stated that the requirements for loading win2k onto a cpu was 64 meg of ram, the fact is that is wrong, 64 is reccomended, 32 is required. The Microsoft Press, Cisco Press, or whatever company is actually putting on the test are always the best books to base the majority of your studying on. These others can be decent second sources of material, but understand that there is a small inherent risk with reading them.

Hmmm...okay.

I guess I get what you mean. I've got the Sybex version and saw the errors you were referring to.

I guess I'm going to have to look into the MS Press ones or something similar.

Thanks for the heads up.
