I want to dual boot win 98 and win2000 and have ms office 2000 installed to use by both systems. The win 98 needs to run as part of a workgroup and the win2000 as part of a client/server domain environment.

Is this doable? If so how should I partition the 10gb hard drive and anybody forsee any complications with the networking side?

Yup, it is possible, make sure that you never convert ur FAT32 partition use by your Windows 98 to NTFS then everything should be fine. Both 2000 and 98 will run indepently, so the networking is not an issue(When you start 2000, 98 is not running at all, when you start 98, 2000 is sleeping zzzz)

Mind you, you will have to install Office within both OSes.

Not a third partition as w98 would not support that, but a third logical drive. But you do not need to do that. Install the software in the same directory (let it overwrite itself the second time) but do it in each OS so that each of them get their registry updated. Make sure the filesystem you install on is accessible to both operating systems (e.g. FAT).

You can create additional logical drive using the extended partition created by Windows 2000. However even you have a partiton and store all your office files there, you still have to install office twice as what Terje mentioned.
